Every year, my Wife and I, with our friends, look forward to our cherished day trip to Wayne, Alberta — a charming small town near the historic coal mining region of Drumheller. Our favorite stop along the way is The Last Chance Saloon, a beloved local spot known for its lively live music, the annual Waynestock events, and delicious food.

**A Historic Gem in a Unique Setting**

The Last Chance Saloon exudes rustic charm and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s more than just a bar — it’s a community hub with a storied history rooted in the local coal mining town. The walls are decorated with memorabilia that tell stories of the town’s past, creating an authentic, nostalgic vibe that makes every visit special.

**Live Music and the Waynestock Festival**

One of the biggest draws to the Saloon is its incredible live music scene. Local bands and visiting acts regularly perform, turning the venue into a lively, energetic space. The highlight of our visits is always Waynestock — an annual music festival that transforms the Saloon into a celebration of community, music, and good times. Multiple stages, a variety of genres, and a friendly crowd make Waynestock a must-attend event for music lovers.

**Great Food in a Cozy Setting**

Of course, no trip is complete without enjoying the fantastic food. The Last Chance Saloon offers hearty, satisfying meals ranging from classic pub fare like burgers and wings to more gourmet options. The warm, rustic atmosphere makes every meal feel like a special occasion, especially when shared with friends.

**A Perfect Day Trip from Brooks**

Located near the Drumheller valley — famous for its dinosaur fossils and unique landscape — Wayne is an ideal spot for a day trip. The scenic drive through the Alberta countryside adds to the experience, making it a perfect escape from the city. Whether you're into music, food, history, or just a fun adventure, this trip has something for everyone.

**Plan Your Visit!**

If you’re planning a visit, be sure to check the schedule for upcoming live performances and Waynestock dates. It’s a fantastic way to immerse yourself in local culture, enjoy great music, and create unforgettable memories in this unique part of Alberta.
